We like living here because . . .

Location

Tower Court  sits above  the  north banks of the River Thames estuary, next to a large green park area, known as Cliff Gardens, which extends to 22 acres of tree-lined walks, flower beds and places to sit and picnic. So we have the best 'front garden' in Essex!  The cliff-top walk extends all the way from the High Street to the Cliffs Pavilion.   Tower Court also benefits from being adjacent to the conservation area.

The Conservation Area

The local government maintains the stylish Clifftown Conservation Area, which was designated in 1968. It includes the historic 18th century Georgian terrace of Princess Caroline and the Victorian Clifftown Estate, originally designed to give every house an estuary view.  Other important features include Prittlewell Square, the Alexandra Bowling Green with its charmingly quaint cafe, the Queen Victoria statue, and the Lutyens war memorial.   Street lamps, shelters and benches are also all attractively Victorian in style.

Tower Court

Completed in 1965, with noise-deadening concrete floors, a spacious retro-deco foyer that has a bright and airy high ceiling, and two lifts.  Apartments were constructed to give the benefits of large room sizes, a separate kitchen, natural light through large windows, and two balconies in the three bedroom apartments.  We also have two attractive communal gardens with picnic tables for everyone and their children to enjoy.

The one-way road in front of Tower Court carries far less traffic than properties directly on the seafront, so it is much quieter, while offering superior, breathtaking views of the estuary, Kent and towards London.  Tower Court has no dangerous modern cladding, being all-original brick, stone and concrete.

Tower Court is fully wired to give all apartments access to Sky and Sky Q television and broadband.   Each flat has Wi-Fi access through 1GB HyperOptic cable, giving ultra high speed internet.  On the ground floor there are charging points for mobility scooters, and the grounds and common areas have ample high visibility lighting. There are also 10 high-resolution security cameras inside and outside, and there is a caretaker on site five days per week. The building is efficiently monitored and maintained by Tower Court Residents (Westcliff) Ltd and their managing agents, Metta.  Each flat owner is allocated one share in the Company.

Besides garages and off-street parking spaces, the area falls within the Cliffs Pavilion Residents Parking scheme, known as CP-1.  An annual license to park in all the surrounding streets costs just £18 a year, and parking passes for visitors cost only 50p per day.
